Happy 2025 new year everyone!! I am wishing everyone a happy, wondrous, healthy, prosperous year. Today is a great day to look forward to a great year ahead. I want to share with you something to create creativity and positivity into your year.
Have you made a memory/gratitude/blessing jar before? Here's a quick and easy way to remember your year of blessings for the coming year you can read on next new year's eve. You can even use items you already have around your home. Here are the details:
Ingredients:
*jar of your choice - just a few examples in the pic. Bonus points for a jar you have already. No need to go out and buy a jar. A mason jar has a top you can place an image on the inner top and cover with the screw part top. You can paint the jar, leave it as is or decoupage an image on it.
*pen of your choice - l love an old fashioned bic pen. It writes smooth and you can see when it is ready to replace the ink with a refill. You can use a pretty pen or one of sentimental value and even tie it to your jar.
*paper of your choice to write and fold up your memories on, ie notepad, paper bag cut in squares, post its. Get creative with paper you have already. You can fold, roll or make shapes with your paper pieces.
*small envelopes to put items in, ie: petals, button, gift card tags.
*paper clip - not too big so it fits in the jar, one with a fun top, a color one or plain.
*Embellishments of your choice, ie: lace, fancy paper, yarn to wrap around the jar, ribbon, etc.. Make a bow, add some stars and flowers. Be creative, have fun, enjoy the process.
Process:
*Decorate your jar as fancy or plain as you like. Write on the outside a quote, words, year.
*Place in a spot you will see each day to remind you to add a note to the jar.
*Open jar on new year's eve next year and read all the blassings, good memories, laughter, positive vibes you have had all year.
*At the end of the year, if you want to you can keep your memories in a paper clip or folded in an envelop with the year noted.
Get ready to do this again next year too! It is fun and a reminder of days gone past, loved ones, friends, events,
Feel free to share your decorated jar in the comments below.
Cheers and blessings,
Lisa
