Lighthouse standing still
Tall, elegant, regal
On guard for ships 
A signal to the world
Beware of dangers

Trails leading along the shoreline
Hills and valleys
Filled with berries 
Birds singing melodies
Rocks along the shore

Sun shining
Flickering off the water
Ducks swimming
Ducklings in tow
One after another

Standing on the steps
Looking out to sea
Fortress in the distance
Beacon high above 
Silently speaking volumes.
