A walk at the ocean today
Helped reset my thoughts
Waves crashing and throwing
A spectacle to behold
Not a creature dared fly
For fear of crashing below
Instead the birds were rising and falling
With each passing breath
The spray flew high
Upon introduction to the rocks
The shoreline disappeared
As water gushed upon the sand
Washing over and disappearing
Until the next wave made landfall
My thoughts went out to the sea
As my tired legs headed for home
If nothing else -
It reset me.
