Tilly and I looked everywhere for Jellyfish this weekend but none were to be found. Did the turtles eat the 53 Jellyfish we found on this beach a few weeks ago? Maybe so but Tilly was determined to work hard leaving no pebbles upturned :) Maria Lisa Polegatto

The ocean's vastness leads way for many treasures to be found deep within and near to shore, always changing, never ceasing to amaze those that come to adore it. Maria Lisa Polegatto
The ocean is home to many natural treasures but it rejects many things that just don't belong in the ocean, like plastic bags, wraps, bottles, bungee cords with nasty hooks, and swivel seat tops :( Let's all do our part to pick up at least one piece of garbage at the beach, take left over bottles and trash home to dispose of properly and don't throw trash over board. The ocean and its marine life thank you :)
Did you know turtles are very important to the ecosystem? I haven't seen turtles yet this summer but I have seen 53 Jellyfish (aka turtle food) on one shore in one day so far this summer......bring on the turtles!!! Have you seen a turtle lately? Report your turtle sighting in Canada to: The Canadian Sea Turtle Network: http://seaturtle.ca/turtle-sighting. There are some very interesting facts on why we need turtles in the oceans: http://oceana.org/sites/default/files/reports/Why_Healthy_Oceans_Need_Sea_Turtles.pdf. The seals were keeping us entertained today popping up out of the ocean waves!!! So adorable :) Tilly was watching but wasn't quite sure what they were! lol
All packed and ready for a jellyfish count this weekend!!! Last weekend we counted a generous supply of 53 jellyfish!!! Wow, that was a lot of measuring and documenting on one short part of the shoreline! One was even 15"!!! Did you know turtles travel north in the summer to eat jellyfish? It's a part of the circle of life in the natural world. If you live in or are traveling in Atlantic Canada, join in and send your jellyfish sighting info to the Jellyfish Monitoring Project. Beware though, while jellyfish look harmless, they can have quite a harmful sting! Have a safe and jellyfish sting free weekend!!! Maria Lisa Polegatto When a lot of people think of meditation, they think of someone sitting in a yoga pose repeating "Ommmm" (or as cows like to say it "moooo" lol). But there are a lot of different ways to do meditation. Did you know you can do a walking meditation? That's the kind I do most :) I love to walk along my favorite beach, at the ocean, or in the forest simply just relaxing and letting nature lead me with it's songs of natural sounds and wondrous show of colors :) What a glorious way to feel refreshed and renewed!!! You can even bring your fur friend with you. They are great healers and are happy to join along!! Think of the chakras as that of the ego with the connection to the bottom three. Then soaring higher we enter into connection to Spirit as we evolve and enter higher realms of healing within. Maria Lisa Polegatto
