Did you know you can do meditation many different ways? It's ok if you fall asleep when you meditate. That happened to me a lot when I first started. I was so happy when I read David Ji's book that explained meditation and that it is ok to fall asleep. Big relief!
I thought I was doing it wrong at first. It was just my body telling me I needed more rest. That made sense since I had been in a car accident and my body was trying to recover from the trauma.
You can also do meditation when you are walking or hiking. That is my favorite way. Tilly and I go to the ocean and listen to the waves breathe in and out as it washes away our thoughts and creates balance and creativity in our lives.
I have always had an affinity to water and as a young child spent most of my free time on the water in the canoe or kayak. My favorite music is hearing the rocks tumble as the waves move them around on the shore.
Just relax, take a deep breathe and let go of your thoughts. It's ok if the thoughts keep coming, just let them go of them as they keep coming to you. Notice how your busy unproductive thoughts fade away and before you know it, you have new thoughts that help you see things clearer. I like to meditate in nature for the added benefit of nature's flow of energy to give me another boost to my creativity.
Tilly loves to meditate with me too. Animals are sensitive to our moods and actions. They can read us like a book. When you meditate you will likely notice your animals will meditate with you too, maybe lay down for a nice nap, come over and snuggle up with you, etc..
Animals like to feel the warm fuzzy emotions coming from you. They are master teachers at meditation so if you still don't think you know how, just watch how they relax and go with the flow.
