When my Mom was young, she used to jump ice clampers in the ocean for fun with her friends.....wow, that was dangerous by today's standards for sure!....one day she fell and as she was going under the cold ocean waters of Cape Breton, she felt something underneath her foot lift her up and out of the water....she never forgot that....and I'm glad she lived to tell me about this....it was a cold walk home to dry her clothes out before her Mom found out! While these ice clampers are on the shore, they always remind me of my Mom and her ice-capades having fun in Nova Scotia growing up as a teenager.

It's how cold outside today???? MINUS 24 with the wind chill. Yes, it's that cold!! This morning Tilly and I thought we should stay home instead of taking the risk of going into nature today but the call of the wilderness was calling out to us and so off we went. Yes, it was cold, brrrrrr, but we were dressed for it. At the lake it was tooooo cold to take my hands out to take pictures so we traveled on the ocean side instead and Tilly spotted movement in the distance and off she was running to make new friends. After lots of sniffing and romping, she bid farewell to her furry friends :)
Tilly and I were out snowshoeing at Two Rivers in the back trails. Beautiful day :) Wonders of nature never cease :) Then out of the trees appeared Rose and Maggie pulling the Tim Horton's Wagon full of people enjoying the day! Come out to Two Rivers to experience all nature has to offer :)
Thank you Tourism CB for the posting Rose and Maggie pulling their Tim's Wagon as a feature photo on your awesome webpage! https://www.cbisland.com/winter/ Walking into the Park trails at Two Rivers, I was trying to adjust my hat and face mask to stop my glasses from steaming up and I heard a noise. I looked up and there was Bruce standing there to say "Hi" with Avery in the back marking their points on the trees. These guys are massive. So love nature and seeing animals enjoy their surroundings :)
While the blizzard warning is over, the tides at the ocean today are still going strong, crashing and thrashing upon the rocks and shore. While the spray of the waves made rainbows in the air, the power of the ocean can not be denied, leaving behind frozen seaweed and seashells filled with frozen water and rock strewn across its shores.
In memory of Mabel's passing 2 yrs ago today, so miss her, such an inspiration and an incredible breed of horsr - she was quite amazing and will never be forgotten. https://www.marialisapolegatto.com/quoteschatterings/mable-wild-sable-island-horse
Nature has the most beautiful art that appears when you take the time to step outside and be amazed at its never ending beauty. Maria Lisa Polegatto
How can such a mild calm day turn into a blizzard? In Nova Scotia weather is a popular topic of conversation because it is constantly changing not just during seasons but within seasons. Winter winds and snow are now upon us. While the snowflakes are beautiful, the wind is whipping them by at record speed.
When we take the risk of being in nature to experience joy and spirituality, it leads to leadership success and better tomorrows for us, others and our environment. Maria Lisa Polegatto
It was so windy at the ocean today, the wind was trying to blow the waves back out to sea! The spray looked like fog. The ocean works hard to heal itself and also us with its rolling thunder. Nature's music is my favorite. Maria Lisa Polegatto
