"Tundra" the Reindeer

2/5/2018

Reindeer are not just for Christmas season.....they live with us all year round. You can hear a reindeer walking as their hooves go clickity-clackity just like in the Christmas carol but they don't need to be "up on the rooftop" for it to happen. Did you know that when their antlers are furry, it means their antlers are growing? The antlers fall off each year over winter and grow back again  in spring. When the furry felt falls off it is nutritious for other animals.  And their antlers are full of nutrients too. Thank a reindeer today for helping keep nature's circle of life alive and well where they survive the perils of nature to benefit the ecosystem.    Maria Lisa Polegatto

Hello, Lisa! I am glad that you once again experienced to see a reindeer. Indeed, they are very friendly! That's why I am hoping that we people should always be nice to them, and in different animals in general. I am hoping that we can have a fair world for everyone; both for people and animals as well. By the way, I haven't seen a reindeer in person that's why I would love to experience seeing them one day. That's going to be memorable for sure!

Thank you for your comment. Animals and nature are so important to our culture and climate. They teach us many things in life and have a role to play in keeping the cycle of life going. I hope you do get to meet one in person. This is Tundra. I also have other Reindeer friends. their feet actually do go "click, click, click" when they walk just like in the Christmas Carol :) Many thanks for connecting.
