Jane Goodall 1934 to Oct 1, 2025

Today, we lost an incredible soul - Jane Goodall. She was more than an icon, a visionary, a beacon of hope, a true example of compassion for animals, nature and....other humans, especially in times of conflict. She found common ground, choosing instead to understand. She made groundbreaking discoveries and accomplished tireless research - she was a gift to the world through her knowledge that will continue to inspire and guide for generations.

Every time I heard her voice, I felt the weight of her wisdom and hope. Her legacy lives on in her remarkable contributions and in the hearts of countless youth she continues to empower through her programs.

The jungles of Gombe call her home now, among her beloved companions she devoted her life to - not as a keeper but as a guide to others to learn from and live alongside - reminding us we are part of nature.

Congratulations, Jane, on a life so wonderfully lived. You will be missed greatly, as the light of your legacy lives on.

Thank you, Jane. May God bless you and keep you in His arms!

In the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord
Let there be peace in the world
Instead of wars, let us bring to the table peace, love, and forgiveness
Instead of competition, let us bring compassion, creativity, innovation, collaboration and conservation
Let us rise to the challenge to be the change
And rejoice in His name
Hallelujah!

After coming through snowmaggeden last week with 150 cms of snow over a few days, and yes I did mean 150 cms,  I am thankful for the snow finally stopping, for people that help out, people that care for others, the small and unnoticeable things we miss everyday such as the beauty of a single snowflake that lands on your nose, for being able to walk outside and see the sun. It has been an eventful year so far. Hopefully snowmaggeden is not planning a repeat.

Gratitude and Hope for Tomorrows

Thank you to everyone who believed in me this year and was kind and supportive. This year, 2023, was full of keeping busy with work, sea turtle beach patrol for CSTN, meeting new people, art and craft making and markets, making new friends, learning new things, etc.. It was also full of nature and animals - some of my favorite things. Being in nature and being creative is a blessing to clear your mind to make way for new thoughts and ideas.

It's hard to believe 2024 is just around the corner. I wish everyone a wonderful holiday season and good health, love, joy, abundance, hope and many blessings  in the coming year.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Lots of love,
Lisa

Stand Tall Ukraine!

22/3/2022

by Maria Lisa Polegatto

Today I heard the Ukrainian soldiers who were captured were removed of their clothing!!! Is this a war or a holocaust?

On the other hand, the Russians who surrendered were given food, clothing and shelter.

And Russian calls Ukrainians Nazis? I beg to differ.

Why is a bully, a dictator, an sick man allowed to unleash his wrath upon the world? Because he can, he is not stopped, he continues.

Why do I care? I am not Ukrainian, I am not Jewish. But I am human and that in my opinion is why humans need to care. So that other humans do not have to go through such disaster, terror, hell on earth.

But Russian has threatened nuclear war. In doing so Russian would also blow themselves up. Why have we let Russian gain control over not one but two nuclear reactors in Ukraine?

Because it's just in Ukraine? Is it? Look around you. We all live in one world, one atmosphere. Where the wind blows so too do we live and breathe.

While we sleep in our soft beds at night, safe and warm, Ukrainians are left in rubble, cold, huddled together in fear of their lives.

I don't support war. I support peace. But what do you do when war comes to your door?

You invite it to peace talks to reason with it. But until that happens you need to react the only way war knows how. You stand tall and defend your people until war runs and heeds the warning to leave.

War is full of pride and ego. It keeps fighting even though it loses. It does not know how to lose as too often it tramples over people and has gotten accustomed to it.

Stand tall Ukraine, stand tall Ukrainians, stand tall those who have been called to defend.

As Zelensky begs the world to help, to fly over no more. Would Russian heed the rules? Probably not, but how do we stand by and watch the terror and sleep at night?

We that cannot or have not gone, need to pray with all our might that truth and justice and peace overcomes the evil sooner than later. May the wrath of God be unleashed upon the terror.

Yes Zelensky, light overcomes the dark. And I stand in the light to pray with you and your people. I invite all of humanity to do the same. That is the least we can do for humanity!

Sending prayers to the seals at Belfry, NS

26/8/2018

Sending prayers to the deceased seal and his colony with some Reiki Drumming to heal and send support to them. Such a sad finding of an adult seal laying on the shoreline yesterday with holes in his side likely causing his fatality.  Today, nature provided its serenity to instill a sense of sadness surrounded by its unending beauty. The circle of life occurs and while it did not appear natural, it brings nutrients to the sand.

Did you know seals come to land when injured so they don't drown in the ocean waters? This seal came ashore, either by his own doing or from the ocean waves. I was too late to offer him life saving help as he was already deceased when found. And while I did a report to MARS, it brings a sense of reality to the world in what is important in life and how quickly things can change. For this seal and his colony, a sad change.  For humanity in general, we need to do better by marine life.

As I moved down the beach to offer Reiki to the rest of the seals, they popped up and watched me drum for them as Tilly (dog) patiently wandered around the shoreline. Namaste my fur friends in the ocean.  Namaste, God bless you all. May you stay safe and be protected from harm.

Prayers to the Orca Pod and the loss of their Calf

2/8/2018

Sending prayers to this pod of orcas who are in mourning for the death of their baby whale, tragic beyond words, tears overflow. If there is ever any doubt that whales are person like beings, this is only a sign of what they are capable of. Release the dams that bind the fish that feed them. Heartbreaking display of love and compassion for one of their own. God bless them all.

Feeling Protected

Feeling protected as this tree fell over in the storm winds and hung up on a few trees just above my shed that thankfully, was saved :)
Trees hold a lot of water and unfortunately when they get blown over in the wind, the water comes gushing back out.
Luckily this tall spruce tree is resting on some nearby trees that held it up and stopped it from demolishing my shed.

Prayer Humbles My Spirit

prayer
I pray to you Blessed Lord Jesus
As I fall upon my knees in humble adoration
With Your love that touches my spirit
The kindness of Your soul that overflows
Blessing me with Your love
So sweet and gentle
As Your love for all humanity
Although we deserve it not
You so freely offer to all
Unencumbered, unburdened, unchained
Thank you Blessed Lord Jesus
For Your kindness, compassion and love.

Serendipity

15/6/2017

Started my day off on the drive to work thinking about my Mom. On the walk to work I met a delightful man carrying a camera around his neck and papers in his hand. He was going the same way as me and talked about the weather, as Cape Bretoner's often do. He mentioned ice clampers still being in the harbors off coast and how he had lost many friends who used to skip over them. It made me reminisce about Mom telling me when she was young jumping ice clampers in the ocean. She fell in once and something under her foot lifted her back out of the water to safety and then to get changed and warmed up from the cold waters. The man thought that was serendipity at it's best. I do too and also think it was serendipity for that exact moment to met him on the street and have that conversation. Thank you Mom, Angels and Jesus. I love serendipitous moments. :)   Maria Lisa Polegatto

A Mother's Love

Mother love
A Mother's love is unending
It's as light as a feather
It shines as bright as the sun
It comes to you even after they're gone
Heaven has a way of reaching out
A favorite song, a coin, a trinket found
Is it a coincidence or a message?
From an Angel
Your Angel
You choose :)

Wings

Thank you for the message today. Although the day took a twist, I tried as hard as I could but I just couldn't find my wings to fly away. Just as the day was ending and I was thinking back about wings and flying, it ended up reminding me of my late Grandfather. When he was in hospital, I would go and sit with him, he said I looked like an angel in one of the dresses I wore. When I got home an angel fell over as I passed by it. Miss you too my Grandfather!   Maria Lisa Polegatto Feb 21, 2017

Tilly prayer

Thank you blessed Lord Jesus for not only hearing my prayer but for answering it .......exactely as I asked for it too and when I least expected it. Here sits Tilly Maisy Whiskey Polegatto, my new furry love, so golden and kind, part Border Collie, Labrador and Shepherd, I love mutts :) She made her first visit to the Senior's Care home tonight to visit Aunt Lena during their Christmas concert and snuggled up the whole time like the little Angel she is.  Feeling so blessed tonight for not just her but  for the people at Animal Medical Centre that helped bring us together and her former owners for training her to be so lovable. Wishing all many dog hugs and kisses.  Maria Lisa Polegatto Dec 13, 2016

spiritual poetry
My Lord
My God
My Saviour
I am humbled by Your presence
The world can come and go
But for me
Only with your blessing
The touch of your Being
Upon my soul with love
Makes gladness grow
Leading me to Your still waters
To appreciate the gifts
You sprinkle all about
Thank you for your Love
Thank you for your guiding Light.
