This year has been a year of many challenges and changes and yet, there has been joy to give hope for a better tomorrow. 2022 started off no different than 2021 ended with viruses we don't wish to name anymore, but at least there was some reprieve with relaxation of restrictions this year. As the world opened up, so too did our hearts begin to have hope.

Earth Energy

by Maria Lisa Polegatto

The root of my existence comes straight from the earth.
I stand before the foothills as I enter nature's bounty.
The shoreline leading to the lighthouse beckons me as I hear the music of the waves wash over the rocks. A part of me is mermaid spending time at the sea.
And then my feet take me inland to the magical mystical waterfall.
I stand with arms open, my face up to the creator basking in the mist of the purity imparted on me.
I need to get closer and disappear into the waters edge to the cave entrance behind the falls.
A secret place that glows from the beauty within.
A place to relax and rejuvenate in the arms of divinity.
The waters rush forward with ethereal music as I close my eyes and shower myself in the inner mist of the waterfall as the glow of the water fulfills my needs.

Difficult Women

As I stand at the foot of my ill father's bed, I see a man that at 12 years old went to work in the community to run a wash plant and an asphalt plant at the same time. I am in awe of him. What were you doing at 12 years old?

He didn't finish all his schooling but accomplished great feats and heights. He successfully started and ran his own construction business in partnership with my Mom, both from little towns and with no formal college education but rather life experience. I have always been proud to call him "Dad". As I see the feeble man he is lying in his hospital bed waiting for test results and bed pan, I know the true man he is as it has shaped me into the woman I am today.

A hard working, loyal, dependable woman who can stand up for herself. Unfortunately those that don't benefit or don't want to see that may say other things about me. As Jane Goodall says, "It actually doesn't take much to be considered a difficult woman, that's why there are so many of us".

If by difficult they mean, seeking peace, not war, communication instead of insult, appreciation not disrespect, helping others not holding back, then, "Yes, I am a difficult woman and proud of it! Thank you Dad! I love you!"

It's easy for global events to sway our emotions from recurring highs and lows. We need to find ways to stay in higher vibrations to balance our emotions which balance our mind, body and soul. My favorite way to stay in balance is to spend time with the miraculous world of nature. Albert Einstein was right, in my opinion, when he said to "look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better."

The Truth Of Your Thoughts

One thing I have learned over the years is that many people will claim to know you, know your thoughts and actions, but, no one knows you like you do or knows your true thoughts. You are the only master of your thoughts and only you can steer them toward your true desires.

Balance in life is important to get through all moments in life whether happy or sad. It is something we take for granted when we have it, but feel so out of sorts when we lose it. There are lots of ways to stay in balance with some being better than others.

The world can place a lot of demands on us every day. From waking up to sleeping, we mostly  run through our chores, not our joys. And in doing so we forget we need to take our joy with us everywhere we go and in everything we do.
As many demands you have, there are always more ready to come toward you. Learn how to organize your thoughts, actions and results.

The current state of the world requires a great deal of reflection.  While the world is spinning out of control, the economy sees no room to step aside to funnel itself to improve the situation, concerned only with increasing its flow of exchange.

There has been two things in life that taught me how to love, not fear. One is my faith in God and the other is how animals have taught me love attracts while fear repels. I would not want to live any other way.

Most people think you use your intuition by thinking hard about something. Instead, just let life flow and lead you. Intuition isn’t planned. It just happens.

Have you ever been somewhere, about to do something, and you got a feeling not to do it? That’s your intuition talking to you. It comes right up your body and into the sixth chakra of your third eye and puts you on alert. Pay attention to it.

Nature always comforts me, heals me, restores me. People, places and things can be fulfilling but they come and go in life. Nature on the other hand is always reliable, truthful and dependable. It never fails me. If I cry leaving, it is because I want more of it, not because it ever hurt me deep inside.  Instead it calls out to my soul and I connect with it with a feeling I am at home in the safety of His arms surrounding me with His love.

As the world goes on twirling around us, events are unfolding that bring us both joy and sadness. Life teaches us how to be stronger and more resilient through the vastness of our soul. That vital part of us that sparks our life on conception when His hand reaches down, touches our heart to start it beating and breathes life within us. Not only does our soul have life, but it also gives us the thirst for knowledge, fulfillment, and love. Those first moments span into a lifetime searching for happiness to allow our soul to express and fulfill us.

As I stand in the forest, I am reminded of the wisdom the trees possess, after years of quietly watching the world around them while holding roots with each other in their close-knit family. They have the joy of watching wildlife come and go in their branches, giving shelter and food to sustain life while drinking fresh water to prevent floods of the trickling streams, rivers, lakes and oceans nearby. How powerful nature is as it freely grows and allows us to grow with it.

The water has natural healing abilities that wash away the busy of the world and allow us to relax and bounce back to who we truly are when there are no pressures and demands placed upon us.

Oneness Meditation. Oneness can be defined as the state of unification. Let me take you along on the journey.

Oneness can be defined as the state of unification.  I find the best way to embrace the reality of oneness is by going into nature to feel connected with the earth and everything on it.

I am blessed to have a peninsula at the ocean that has the stillness of the lake on one side and the roaring ocean waves on the other creating an incredible healing vortex. While it is a long drive to get there, I am always relaxed and humbled upon my return. Let me take you on the journey. This exercise is best done outside in the free-flowing energy of nature, but you can also meditate anywhere you are.

Reports of people seeing Angels come from all over the world. Some with events of unexplained happenings in times of tragedy that disappear into the ether. Do Angels exist? In my opinion, yes. They comfort us in times of sorrow, they lead us away from danger, they give us signs, they rejoice with us.

Massage is so relaxing and soothing in moments when you can let go of pain and the energy it steals away. That sounds so good, but, what if you have injuries, trauma or other reasons why you can’t get massage, not even the lightest touch? While you may think that could be rare, it does happen. So what do you do instead?

Whales and Sustainability: The Ocean's Ecosystem Engineers. The oceans are not just vast, they are home to many marine species, including whales, that we are still learning about.

The oceans are not just vast, they are home to many marine species, including whales, that we are still learning about. Unfortunately, with warming temperatures melting arctic ice, negative effects are expected on the environment and marine ecosystems (Vacquie-Garcia et al., 2017), forcing whales to leave their feeding grounds in search of food (WWF, 2017).
