What does Earth Day mean to you? To me Earth Day is a time to say "thank you" to the earth. Not just the earth as we pass it by everyday, but every bit of the earth - the soil (a.k.a. dirt, soil, ashes, dust) we walk over each day; the trees that produce the oxygen for us to breath; the plants that grow food for us to eat; the herbs and flowers that heal us; the air we so naturally breathe; the water we hydrate ourselves with; the ancient rainforests of medicinal wonders.

Earthly Helpers
The Earth also has helpers that assist it. It has no ego to compete with. It graciously accepts help. Thank you to the sun that warms and nourishes us; the moon that waxes and wanes for us; the stars that guide us; all living organisms that sustain the earth like animals and mammals so that we humans can live. The animals, mammals, reptiles and all living organisms and creatures that were created on this earth before humans were so that we could live on this planet. Without whom we would not have clean air and water. Hug a tree to breath the freshest oxygen right from the source. The next time you see a dolphin, know that one of their jobs is to clean the toxins from the waters. We need more of these incredible souls. Whales feed our oceans and produce more fish for us to eat. Seals also stir up the oceans to feed fish to produce more food for us to eat.
Our Home
The Earth is our home. I don't just mean the house you live it, I mean the planet we live on. Our homes are made up of all the ingredients that the earth has produced for us. Let the earth be itself. Let the earth breath and sing and dance like it did before we were created. Yes, we need to use some of its resources but do so with respect. Try the take a tree, plant a tree approach. Stop and see the incredible beauty before us so we can help it grow; help us survive. For the earth lives to sustain itself and us in the process. Allow nature's magic to flow freely.
Thank You
As I look outside, it is raining. How appropriate for it to be raining on Earth Day for the air to kiss the earth with vital nutrients to help it grow up and reach up to the sky to hug the sun and the moon. Everyday should be Earth Day. "Thank you Earth, thank you Mother Nature, Thank you God". Love this beautiful planet and it will love you back.
