One of the great things about dreams is that you can be anywhere with the most incredible souls on earth even if your season is different than that in the dream. Waiting for the winter to move on, I can move freely in my dream with warmth.
I had a whale of a dream swimming in the ocean and working on a research boat with scientists. While spending another day on the ocean we were alerted to a whale that looked like it was ill. The whale was just under the ocean's surface, not moving, just floating in place. I was concerned for the whale's privacy and safety. I was trying to keep people from getting too close to the whale who with one mighty flick of her tail could send us all to the shore with a typhoon splash.
The Swirl
The scientists were trying to decide how best to capture the whale to do research on it. I was sitting at the bottom stair of the large boat ladder leading into the water swirling my finger in the water. Just then a dolphin popped up in the water to see me. It was like we were old friends looking into each others eyes. I asked him why the whale was sick. The dolphin swam off and returned to give me a dead fish. He told me it was the sick fish in the ocean that were making the whale not feel not well. The fish were eating in the ocean as they normally do but, with toxic material being dumped, pumped and eroding in the oceans and all the global warming, the food they were eating was too warm and not safe for the fish to eat which meant that the whales and seals who were eating the fish in the cycle of life were also getting sick. Dolphins eat ill and sick fish as part of their purpose in the cycle of life to protect others from ingesting toxins. Imagine leaving your food out of the refrigerator, it looking the same but it being spoiled..... and then you eat it...... I'm feeling sick already thinking about it :(
The Plan
I explained to the dolphin that people were going to try to capture the whale and how the whale could escape so the dolphin could let the whale know. The plan was put in place. The boats were coming to circle around the whale with giant nets but they did not plan on netting near a narrow shoal because they didn't think a sick whale could jump over the shoal.
I left the boat and paddled my kayak to the area away from the boats where the whale could swim to the bottom of the ocean and take a great leap up out of the water and over the shoal to the water on the other side. I let the dolphin know by swirling my finger in the ocean again that it was time and then the dolphin gave the sign to the whale who drifted down in the ocean and then off with a shot swam for the right spot and as I stood there with my arms in the air to motion like a runway for her to jump over, the baby she was carrying inside fell into my arms. Turns out she was not feeling well but was also pregnant and worried about her unborn calf. I got into my kayak with the baby calf and paddled out to the whale in safe waters to return her calf. They bonded nose to nose, and side by side swam off in the ocean free and well. She was simply resting in the ocean because she was pregnant and also not feeling well but not sick enough to be captured. I wished them well and kissed the dolphin on the tip of his snout to thank him for allowing me to help before he swam for safety with the whale and her calf. I awoke feeling refreshed and renewed after my swim in the ocean.
Never underestimate the energy and stamina of another when put in a position of flight. When endorphins and adrenaline kick into gear, one can achieve incredible heights.
Complex Universe
I read some theories that it is thought that dreams are the bodies way of sorting your memories away each night. I have always loved the ocean, whales and dolphins, but this is my first memory of speaking to a dolphin and helping him to help other souls on this earth the way love teaches us to :) The mind is a complex universe in itself where dreams, aspirations and passions exist. A place where we can visit each night to escape the realities of our dream state lives. I like to think our dreams are our souls way of teaching us how to reach outside of our physical shells and help those in need.
May everyday be kind to the oceans day and all its inhabitants and visitors where living in peace with all others is a priority :)
