Nature's Way of Being

The birch bark clings to the tree trunk
Unsure if it wants to let go to touch the ground
Dash, dash, dash the deer dances in the leaves
As he moves through the trees with fawn in tow
Nature’s morse code is heard by those who listen
The birds chirp each sequence in song
Silky are the velvet milkweed leaves
As the monarch flutters about its clusters
Smooth as butter is the buttercup
The glow of its reflection on my skin
Soothing is a day in nature as I climb into bed
I fall fast asleep thankful for the delights of nature.

Bubble, bubble
No toil, no trouble
Let the winds blow In peace and harmony instead
While humans are busy destroying themselves and the world
Let us concentrate on healing, peace and harmony
With and within ecosystems to conserve biodiversity
Let it flow. increase and multiply to epic proportions
Elephants with the vast knowledge and skills
To stomp, populate and grow their ecosystem
Wild horses to chew, encourage regrowth and gallop freely
Their manes free flowing in the winds as their benefits increase foliage
Whales, those darling ecosystem engineers,
Who pump, move, flux and populate to disperse nutrients
For fish we so dearly need for survival
Yes while humans act wildly toward each other barbaric and shameful
Dominating each other and that which even benefits themselves
Forgive them Father, for they know not better
Their egos tempted and inflamed by wickedness until they get their way
Not until they destroy so much they revert into themselves
Will they understand what they are missing and overlooking
The natural world is full of not just beauty but balance
So needed in the human world
Wake up you intelligent beings
See the mysteries unfolding before you.
Starting with your very birth
Make it worth the days and nights
As death you can not escape
How do you wish to spend your days?
With toil and trouble or in harmony and balance?
Maybe you know only one
Let us teach each other how to positively benefit the world we live in
Let us find common viewpoints and work from there
Species roam the earth, co-mingle and flourish
When the floods, fires and combat land us all in the same local
From death, destruction and demise
We must not kill to the last of survival
The birds and bees and wasps
Bring much balance even through their tiny size is much strength
To muster through our destruction
Orangutans reach out to stop the machines from destroying habitat
Butterflies indicate weather and carry forth seeds of change
Wooly monkeys swing from trees near rivers
Seabirds carry nutrients between ecosystems - land, air and sea
The albatross not of toil and trouble but rather benefit
The Amazon is filled with marvels
Let us not destroy oxygen from trees we need to breathe
Flowers bursting with color not merely for our benefit
Attracting bees and insects while delighting us with its beauty
Yes these are the very things we need to focus on
To heal the world and each other
So much unknown in the world
Can we stop long enough to appreciate it?
Can we join forces for good instead of evil?
I am thankful for the keystone species and individuals
Who have come out of their caves to share the marvels of the world
Einstein, Goodall, Crousteau, Attenborough, Ocean Alliance, Sea Shepard, Suzuki and more
Let us continue researching the many benefits each species can provide to the natural world
We forget the ancient knowledge of ancestors when the world was less comfortable and convenient
The times we all sat around the fire to tell stores
Pick berries in the first morning dew
Help each other mend clothing,
We treat the world as throw away
But all life is sacred and necessary for us all to grow
Imagine life in the octopus' garden as a reality
Will you then still blow up, send missiles and drones to overcome obstacles?
Only skilled negotiators can jump a hurdle without jumping
Take the time for conversation and go around instead of through
It is time for new ways of being, a new awakening
Humans have left 3% of all land untouched
3% and quickly dwindling to nothingness
Stop the killing, put down your weapons, run for your lives
The earth is imploding and you with it
Do you wish for your days to be spent
Continually destroying or can you find
The part buried inside that cares for the unborn child
The future looks bleak but let nature not fool you
It will survive once humans are all gone
Mother Nature will breathe a sign of relief
To rid itself of the specks of dust that get into her eyes while she rubs us out
With tears that flow, anger that burns, quakes that rock the world
And wind that wipes out the very development we took from her to develop

"Development", Mother Nature screams as she shrieks in pain
"Is this what you call development?
Let me show you what I can develop
From what you call and treat as nothingness
To the fears I instill inside you
Tsunamis, volcanoes, hurricanes, fires, floods fill the earth
To rid you out of my sight
You vile varmints, take that!
While I burn  you out of the Borealis, I will restore it without you in it.
My anger will wash away your iniquity and cleanse you from my skin
The more you destroy me, the more I will and can give back harder
The very characteristic I deplore
But i will go on in perfect harmony budding quietly in the
Hearts of those that stop and see my beauty
As I remind you through your concrete jungles of my resilience
Come to me in peace and harmony and I can lead you to greater heights
More freedom, truth and justice than you know in your development
Lay down and look into my skies and see my clouds
Changing animals as they slowly cross borders peacefully
See the reflection in my water of how still I can be and yet so powerful
See my mountains towering above you
Know that within my soil are my armies of species unseen to the human eye that work in unity
All of my work has not been set out before you
I still hold many secrets yet to be discovered
While worlds of past are buried in my existence
I am the future of civilization
Are you with me?
Are you coming?
Hurry up little one, we have no time to spare
The world is spinning out of control
I am nearing off my axis with the pain that has been inflicted on me
Help me heal and grow
I beg of you to save yourselves as I no longer want to do it without your cooperation
Rid your pollution from my beauty
Recycle, reuse and reduce as I have no more resources I can afford to give you
Money will not keep you alive
Let us grow together
Stand by my side
Hug me gently and let my  wisdom impart to your heart the feeling of great love
I am full of spirit, medicine and more
Go back to elders and learn my ways
I taught my cousin who walks with me in unity
As wildlife shrieks and hides when you come near it
It wants only the best for you and survival of all life
I can tolerate no more of your lies to protect, preserve and conserve
I am ready to move on without you
Let me show you the way to my door
You have but one choice to live
With me in truth - survival
Or not at all
Choose wisely."

Behold!
Grace and beauty lay before you
Why can't your see it?
It lays at your feet
It spans across the great horizons
Kneel down and touch the ground
It beholds truth and justice
Take it in your hands
Raise it up and give thanks
For the seeds that fulfill growth
The buds of change feed us
The fruit nourishes our soul
For we are one with the earth
We come from it and return to it
While our soul set free is home
Horizons have no distance
We are whole within ourselves
Our body a mere reflection
It is our deeper desires that lead us
Take the path that only you can
Step forward one foot in front of the other
Reach forward and soak in the knowledge
Be still and listen
Be not a part of destruction
But instead a beacon of hope
Let the loving Light lead the way.

The Last Tremolo Cry

While it was foggy along the shoreline
The loon call I did hear
I called out and it answered me

The seagulls gossipped as they heard
They knew it was me as they floated near
They knew not the loons and I are old friends

As the clouds turned dark and drew near
They humored me as I mimicked their voices
Delighted to be heard and understood

Not a rain goes by they don't come around
I standing on the shoreline wait for them
As their voices echo inside my memories

Seeing them dive deep and resurface
As the paddle of my kayak dripped dry
Waiting for their next warning

"Take cover, rain is coming!
Gather your young and drink"
For He has sent forth to feed His flock

A soft mist upon my face begins
I heed it not
Until I hear the last tremolo cry.

Woe Of The Spirit

conflict resolution

Published in The Edge Magazine online

After all the distorted facts and drama unfolds
She walks by smirking and taunting me still
Trying to push my buttons to get me to react
I stand back reeling from the horror
Of insults and insinuations hurling
She now acts superior like a victor home from battle
But the battle within her continues to toil
Although I wish to battle not, it also means I fear not
The fear you impose you unleash from within
A reflection of your thoughts and life experiences
I see your spirit and mine floods with sorrow
But woe the sorrow of my spirit helps you not
So I send you joy and an abundance of Light
As you seem to need it more than I now in your life
I hope your journey leads you to the peace that you seek
Just remember peace is not a battle; it is a place of quiet resolve
Where we learn from each other lessons to help one another
Let the Light guide you so fear falls away
You will then see in all a brighter day.

Finding My Place

empowerment poetry
Being here in this world
It's not about you
It's about me and finding my place
It's not about the teeter totter
It's the pivot
It's finding that point; the balance
As synergy takes hold
Placing everything on hold
As I centre myself
It's not about you
It's about me finding my place.

Touched By The Light

spiritual poetry
Published online January 1, 2016 in The Edge Magazine.

The Light so pure and forgiving
Welcomes darkness in warm embrace
As the darkness surrenders its fears
Love dances round soft and gentle
In pastels and hues of illuminating color
Darkness fades as love shows the way
The Light has its way of joining us together
Teaching love with a touch to the soul
Once touched by the Light a new way of life unfolds.

conflict resolution poetry
Published online October 1, 2015 in The Edge Magazine.

His ego pranced in front of me
How dare I tell the truth
What could I do about it anyway
The damage he created
Is from his own doing
As I sat and listened to his wrath
I wondered if he still thinks it's worth it

Just then his spirit peeked out aside him
"I'm scared to live inside this body
the hurt it unleashes ricochets inside
I try to lead him to the Light
but fear and greed lead him away"
At that moment I looked at him again
I felt compassion for his soul.

Rain on Me

spiritual poetry

Published online August 1, 2015 in The Edge Magazine.

In every drop of rain, God lives
Some skip through the rain drops to not get wet
Dodging each drop that was guided to cleanse
Others stand in the rain, arms wide open
With glistening smile facing up to the Divine
Welcoming the soft patter of drops that anoint
One by one God accepts the invitation
Drip, drop, drip, drop
Here I am Lord ...
Come rain on me today and every day
Rain on me.
