Herbs Of Life

18/1/2017

In my kitchen grows
Herbs of life
While there are many
There are three
That rotate their way
Into foods near everyday
Basil, the zest of life
For when you feel
You need a pick me up
Oregano soothes the stomach
But it doesn't stop there
It flows as it heals the body
Parsley for your lungs
To let them breathe
With ease in and out
And the best part of these
They are best shared
Dogs are glad you dared
To increase the bond
With herbs that grow
Nature knows and offers
Vitality and life.

Sugar Lurks

14/11/2016

Sugar lurks in wait
So sweet and seemingly innocent
Yet deadly are its effects
While natural sugars are a treat
Processed sugar defies mankind
It goes down so smooth
Yet that is where the hazard leaks
It feeds that which harms us
Our cells proliferating
Vast multiples at a time
Yet were that love
We would all be healed
But sugar is not a substitute for love
Don't let it fool you
It lurks in wait
Deep within our foods
Additive to most
But nature knows its adversary
It keeps sugar at bay
In only healthy ways
Nature's goodness heals
That which sugar deteriorates.
