Jesus
The weather turns cold but warms my heart
Reminiscent of yesterdays gone past
Of a time in a stable with hay strewn about
When the animals lulled to witness a miracle
Gifts arrive of frankincense, gold and myrrh
But the greatest of gifts to us is our King
B
aby Jesus among us to bring us the Light.

A day to remember so we never forget
The trumpets blare proudly reminding us yet
Of all the great battles protecting us sure
A great nation built by swiftness and courage
The souls of the departed row by row
Standing aside with heads held high
They are home in our hearts
Let us never forget.

Although October starts off chilly
I feel not the wind that wisps around me
My mind is focused on the beauty
Nature's beauty; reverence like no other
As the leaves dance gracefully with each other
Gravity connects them in the circle of life
A
s nutrients prepare for deep winter slumber
The howl of the moon calls out to one and all
Harvest bounty to carry us through winter
With festivities and celebration of sound and color
The wondrous Light shines upon us all.

Summer's sweet breath continued on
With days that warmed our hearts with love
So too did the stars fill the skies twinkling in the night
The moon reached out to the earth with love
After preparing for this spectacular event since 1982
Their vows to each other renewed
To celebrate, the man on the moon put on a lunar show
With his blood red moon dazzling people near and far
They danced the night away until the morning light sparkled
The sun reminded them that the universe must break them away
The moon is needed for the ebb and flow to help the earth grow
Always in union forever faithful to one another
As the moon reminisces with the earth each night
Sending  the glow of moonlight while the sun dips low
2033 may sound a long way off
But a moment in the grand scheme of things
As the earth and moon will have a chance to renew and dance again.

Midsummer rounds the bend
The fields are blue with fresh ingredients
Mouths are full, hands are busy picking
Summer heat has us running for shade
It's off to the beach for a dip and a wade
Bonfires glow in the midnight air
Sending fire sparks high in the sky
The crackling of wood keeps us awake
Smoke fills the air and cleanses our spirits
Stories are told by friends about long ago
Joyous laughter fills the air
The water carries it near and far
People scampering in daylight to find
Sticks and logs to help prolong the ashes
That will come once again tonight
Under the magical clear sky.

As July approached I was unsure
Of what it had to offer
And as sure as ever I believe
God is everywhere as I
Watch the budding berries
And sprouts of garden delights
The warmth that shines upon us
Nature is so resilient
One can never imagine the
Joy it beholds until it beholds you
It fills me full of might and delights
As it dances round my soul
Just take a look around and
let it soak deep within
as you gently hold it
near and dear where it can
always stay a part of you
where it's always been.

And June went by so quickly
It was hard to remember
the days lead to nights
the nights turned to day
the sunlight shone so brightly
welcoming all to play
the moonlight danced across
the midnight sky so full of life
as if the waltz turned to tap
and then whirled into a cozy nap
I yawned and welcomed a new day.

After the cold winter's gloom
Dandelions are in now full bloom
They push up with great might
Nectar awaits the bees soon in flight
Birds are chirping out their song
The sun has been shining all day long
May flowers let us know it's time
The outdoor show costs not a dime
Tilling the soil the farmers and gardeners dig in deep
Planting for a bountiful harvest to keep
Baskets of flowers arrive on steps and balconies
Nature creates its own magic alchemy
Bring on summer and all of its glory
Gone outside to let nature tell me another story.

May the Heavens open
Sending forth showers
Washing away the iniquity of the world
Reminding us of the One not so long ago
Who gave up His all for all of us
As the snow melts away
May too the ego fall away
Fear has no place here but
Dances around those as a test
Faith has no fear
Faith has only love
Let it spring forth
Let it dance with joy and spread amongst us all
From One to one and then to all
Sprinkle me with the love that falls.

March

The month that we expect
Nature to spring all around
Birds start reappearing chirping
To wake nature frozen in time
While the Ides of March comes up from behind
To keep us distracted and on our toes
But nature takes no part in the Ides
She is too busy swirling the remaining
Effects of winter to remind us
Spring may be here but it is not fully sprung
Patience, patience, patience spring will come
All in the right time when all is in line
It has nothing to do with the lions and lambs
It has everything to do with environmental
Contaminants being hurled at nature that
Make her keep reeling over and over
For clean air, clean water, clean earth
Renewing itself before presenting itself
Bringing spring in quiet reverence.

February, February
Oh, how I love thee February
Love is abound in and around
As the wild winter winds blow
Frosty hurricanes through town
Cupid sets his arrow upon us
To remind us what is important in life
Love of life, love for one another
Being grateful for the love we had
For the love we have to share
For the love that carries us in moments
When the wild winter winds blow
Frosty hurricanes through oh so cold February.

nature poetry
January, January
Oh, how I look to you January
First days to set forth a year
Out with the old mindset
Excitement, how it brewed
Of all the things to make anew
As the days mounted
So did the weather

Out in the cold, air chills
Inward I look, cozy and warm
Tis the end of January

Farewell, farewell January.
