When someone you once thought
You could trust betrays you
The knife cuts jagged and deep
Shattered pieces fall before you
Your heart torn from your body
Thrown on the cold dark floor
Smashed into many tiny pieces
Obliterated from existence
They want to ensure they crushed
All of you to the ends of no return
As you sit recalling all the good
You have done for them and
Question what did you do wrong
Remember you did nothing wrong
You are the Light that they fear
For fear leads those to harm you
Fear deep within them that has
Turned them dark and cold
But let your Light shine brightly
Brighter than before
For they are a reflection of what
They find within themselves
Not a mirror of your Light
For Light does not harm
It does not fear
The Light can see through the darkness
And knows when to step aside
And let the dark bury itself forever more.
