Elephants Are Love
As I walk through the jungle
I am at peace with the world
The sun and the moon guide me
My tribe is my glory
We trumpet for all to hear
Helping young ones succeed
And waiting for the old and dying
We have compassion for life
Not just our own
I am an elephant
My tusks are for foraging
As do you in society
They are filled with tissue, blood and nerves
Teeth to help feed me in the great outdoors
While they never stop growing
They are filled with my love
Which I keep alive inside
When removed, they represent dying
A removal of love so pure
It rips out my heart and I am left crying
My majesty is unique
Help me keep my young safe
Leave us to our peace
Please give up this obsession for ivory.
