Ode to Dad

This man stole my heart
From the second I was born
He never left my side
In good times and bad
He always spoke the truth
Made us laugh, and taught us how to be strong
Today he left us in tears
As he went to rest in peace with our Mom
Life will never be the same
Even at 82
He showed us how to enjoy life and give it your all
He proved age is just a number
Grading was his thing
But he loved each of his fleet like his children
Not one more special than the rest
He loved with his heart
Always had the best advice
He worked hard all his life
God truly blessed us with the best Dad
Take special care of your loved ones
Hug them and talk to them daily
For one day they too will be gone
Always in your heart
When you need advice , just ask yourself....
What would Dad do?
What would he say?
He's lead you this far
The rest is up to you
Carry on in his footsteps
And while they are big steps to follow
He taught you well
Rest in peace my super hero Dad
Love you forever
While my heart is broken
It is better broken
Than to not have had you for my Dad.
