The rain comes rushing all around
People running, wipers swooshing, umbrellas open
But out in the forest the animals delight
God has brought them glory all about
Water to feed, wash and renew
My drive to the park is full of anticipation
The rain has stopped, the wind blew it out
A wild and windy day, I park up real close
Entering the barn, Bud is front and centre
New shoes are on the agenda today
Tall and majestic, reigns safely guide him
Nikey watching from his stall at full attention
So tall and mighty but yet so gentle
Today I brought them apple pieces
They gobble up as the men work about
The barn master comes over purring
To see what all the fuss is about
Mabel comes near for treat and loving touch
Her mane is long and flowing
The donkeys cuddle from the wind outside
Francois leads Francine and others my way
Always ready for communication, "bahh"
The wind blows me to the other door
Pepper and Merlin hop up to greet me
Their long horns they rub along the stalls
Happily exchanging stories since my last visit
Cheech and Chong have grown size in body
by leaps and bounds, horns to follow
Still new to this world ; innocence proceeds them
The swans relaxing in their beauty
The lamas come leaning in to say "How ya doin"
As I say my see you laters
The barn erupts in chatter to stay longer
In the main building the bunnies show off their babies
While Two Rivers Tunnel is fast asleep in his hay
Hibernating til predicting the fate of winter
When the rain stops to a soft pitter patter
I trod on up the trail, bucket of apple pieces in hand
The turkeys rush toward me anxiously telling me stories
Together they all run along side me
Peanut Butter all snuggled in his house
His pond frozen over, snow piled with trough in deep
Bamboo awaits, standing in the timbers
The rain washes her sleek coat
For she senses my presence in the forest
For a few apples slices she is thankful
As I move along the trail, Bamboo holds her spot
Reba and Randy snuggle in their house
Their noses come to the door to greet me
Caledon peers out while Harley lays back
As I move away talking softly to them
I turn and see Harley watching me now
On her toes, I stop to chat a bit longer
Rudolph walks the trail with me and enters the barn
As I cheer her on, I hear a noise behind me
The wolves greet with soft voices to alert me
Princess not far behind them
I open my mouth with respect and thank them
Off I plod back along the trail
Bamboo still standing in her spot
She leans in close to smell and brush against my cheek
Our love connects, no boundaries, our hearts are open
Together we stand united with rain softly falling
I know my visit is soon over as the rain tells me so
Feeling blessed, I step inside
My heart; love overflows.
