Its not just cold and frozen
Go outside and see the beauty
Icicles hang low
Fresh fallen snow
Hear the crispness
As foot steps walk
Feel the warmth inside your heart
As winter treasures come forward.

Published in The Edge Magazine online After all the distorted facts and drama unfolds She walks by smirking and taunting me still Trying to push my buttons to get me to react I stand back reeling from the horror Of insults and insinuations hurling She now acts superior like a victor home from battle But the battle within her continues to toil Although I wish to battle not, it also means I fear not The fear you impose you unleash from within A reflection of your thoughts and life experiences I see your spirit and mine floods with sorrow But woe the sorrow of my spirit helps you not So I send you joy and an abundance of Light As you seem to need it more than I now in your life I hope your journey leads you to the peace that you seek Just remember peace is not a battle; it is a place of quiet resolve Where we learn from each other lessons to help one another Let the Light guide you so fear falls away You will then see in all a brighter day. Maria Lisa Polegatto Nov 24, 2015 Nature often sits in silence
The quiet reverence Announces its presence But when death and destruction toll Nature can wait no longer The tears well up and flow out to the world Like the child we all once were Nature lets the tears go and flows First the dew, then the mist Often silent as the hurts wells up inside But when the hurt can hold no more The winds blow, sheets fall, puddles mount Cleansing the world as it flows Listen to the wind as it howls It cries out to release all that wells inside We hide as it tears apart its soul Unleashing and releasing And when its rein is known It retreats and calms and soothes its soul Leaving behind the beauty hidden in its sorrow As we stand with tears at its authority Mightier than we can ever be As it sprouts to help us recover As the tears of nature recoup its soul And dries up the puddles into itself The mighty winds turn to breeze And allow us to again live in ease. Maria Lisa Polegatto November 27, 2016 Today I walked among the trees I heard them laugh and sing They surrounded me with love As they beckoned me The squirrels were busy Scampering to and fro The leaves shook free To remind me So are we To come enjoy all that Nature has to offer Free advice from the birds As they fly above Singing sweetly songs of love Flowers bloom and grow So much love to show The scents of the forests Filled with herbal essence No where else can I be So free with all that nature offers. Maria Lisa Polegatto Nov 20, 2016 Sugar lurks in wait
So sweet and seemingly innocent Yet deadly are its effects While natural sugars are a treat Processed sugar defies mankind It goes down so smooth Yet that is where the hazard leaks It feeds that which harms us Our cells proliferating Vast multiples at a time Yet were that love We would all be healed But sugar is not a substitute for love Don't let it fool you It lurks in wait Deep within our foods Additive to most But nature knows its adversary It keeps sugar at bay In only healthy ways Nature's goodness heals That which sugar deteriorates. Maria Lisa Polegatto Nov 14, 2016 Beauty and innocence abound How it dives into nature and tells us all As the story unfolds Of how the trees created its branches And reached out with unending love How the leaves grew with that love And went forth into this world To nourish and flow All the while the tree Stands in silent wisdom Its roots stand firm It bends and it flows Never complaining Silent reverences grows While the bark looks weary and weak Each crack brings more strength No one knows the whole story As the rings go round and round In a never ending circle of life For when one grows, many more unfold Connecting in nature The silent beauty untold For no one hears of the stories The preservance, the struggles, the triumph For nature is focusing on healing This planet one root at a time And while we can't always see the beauty Or hear the constant chatter They speak tree language In spite of ourselves Bending and cracking to help us See the unending beauty That surrounds us Let us feel the glory of its spirit Surround us with love Let us go forth with the knowledge It imparts to the world Let us sit in silence Hearing the leaves speak as the flow As the story unfolds. Maria Lisa Polegatto Nov 10, 2016 I teach and learn the lessons You have set before me Lord
Helping those in need, in need of You Lord Spreading Your love until the day is over, over and done my Lord For when my time is over on this earthly plane, You’ll call upon me Lord For when the bond is broken, broken in two my Lord I’ll be home again, home to You my Lord You’ll free my soul for the journey, the journey home to You I’ll kneel at Your gateway, my head held low The river within flowing upon your steps Trembling with the thoughts that You may not accept me Shivering from the cold reality that I am not good enough Fearing that the gate may not open as I knock upon it Sorrow for not being able to finish all my tasks Longing for Your presence Knowing You are there for me but I must leave the earthly plane behind The safety of the temporary home I had known I stand true before You my Lord The nakedness of my sins exposed The truth free for You to see and bless with Your forgiveness I need not say a word for You have seen my journey You know the wounds I have endured I am battered and bruised from those who refused to carry out Your lessons From those who were filled with jealous, greed and anger From those who saw me as weak for carrying out Your lessons When You are near me I feel the tingling of Your warmth flow through my spirit Now all is worth it when I feel Your forgiveness in the essence of Your presence My face warms as my drenched eyes struggle to see To my wondrous delight I see the glory of You Lord Words can not express the feeling You deliver and the beauty you behold The fullness of Your spirit overcomes all The instant knowing all is right within The open embrace of Your presence draws me near to You Your protection and guidance have lead me home to You There I find my home waiting, waiting there with You The pain of leaving loved ones replaced with the comfort in knowing they will also come When their work is over and their time on earth has come We will reunite in the presence of You Lord And so my journey will continue, continue with the Lord I will set out to carry out Your word, Your word my Lord For when the bond is broken, broken in two my Lord I’ll be home to you. Maria Lisa Polegatto November 11, 2009 Being here in this world It's not about you It's about me and finding my place It's not about the teeter totter It's the pivot It's finding that point; the balance As synergy takes hold Placing everything on hold As I centre myself It's not about you It's about me finding my place. Maria Lisa Polegatto Nov 8, 2016 Published in The Edge Magazine I live in Love and Light to guide my way The kind of Love that flourishes in the Light As that of the blossoms of a flower Healing Love freely flows forth to feed my soul The kind of Love that flourishes in the Light Intertwined in my heart with Love Healing Love freely flows forth to feed my soul Where Angels forge healing Light for all to grow Intertwined in my heart with Love As that of the blossoms of a flower Where Angels forge healing Light for all to grow I live in Love and Light to guide my way. Maria Lisa Polegatto Nov 3, 2016 Bravery in this world is no easy task Joan of Arc; Vive Le France! While warriors get trampled Their greatness remains Hoof prints embedded in our hearts Rallying the troops for better days To rid the world of sorrow Takes a toll on those borrowed Borrowed for this time From great masters that lead us Into battles that need winning For mercy is at heart God grant us forgiveness For not standing up sooner To show the world the bravery Of trusting in Your heart Faith will lead us Truth will overcome Grace will hold us Thy will be done. Maria Lisa Polegatto Nov 1, 2016 You care not what color
The pigment of the skin beholds For You seek to create love With every stroke of Your brush Across the canvas of life Joy unfolds before Your eyes Yet then You bring life To Your creations Before our very eyes As Spirit takes hold Filling our hearts with every beat As love blossoms deep inside Our souls overflow As You delight in our awe Filling us with unending joy Creating new works near and far For us to discover Bestowing upon our souls As we marvel and absorb How great is Thou art Thank you Lord. Maria Lisa Polegatto October 26, 2016 And so the world keeps turning As I walk upon my path Each turn I take leads me on Sometimes I think I have found my way Only to find the end With another way unfolding Right before mine eyes And although my journey Carries on with those Close to my heart I long to find the path Where love is unconditional Where peace is eternal Where healing is universal As I continue on my journey You, my Lord Are always in my heart. Maria Lisa Polegatto Oct 7, 2016 The Little Flower blossomed As she walked upon a path Rose petals adorned The way to Jesus Deep within her heart Great love bestowed With a shower of roses From Heaven upon this earth Her mission: sweetness of heart Unite unto Thee For love to be loved In all of our hearts As He is in Heaven Here on our earth. Maria Lisa Polegatto Oct 2, 2016 In the early morning hours Dreams come alive They wrap around and hug you To remind you love is always near Reach out and draw it in So precious are those moments When a loved one wanders in Just before you wake A memory to carry through your day Til slumber draws you in again To refresh you for another day. Maria Lisa Polegatto September 14, 2016 To walk in nature Is to never be alone Senses alive, life revived Whispers of sweet messages Intermingle in the leaves As the trees reach out To each other and me The scent of wild roses As the dew beckons to me Surrounded by fresh fallen leaves As the summer breeze dances about Berries of blue in fields so rich As I lean in to dine And experience the pleasure Sweetness is truly divine The need to be gentle utmost Although nature is resilient One must remember We are only a visitor, not resident Before me I marvel Far and wide At all of the treasures God has spread out before my eyes. Maria Lisa Polegatto September 12, 2016 The fresh country air carries me away To a warm summer breeze Under a star studded sky Where crickets sing a song of love Soft glow of moonlight Along the ripple of waves The energy of close embrace of the sea Waltzing to the magical moments As they gently wash upon the shores of love. Maria Lisa Polegatto May 15, 2016 A part of me is gone This I already know I feel the emptiness Deep within my soul But I gladly send it off With you to Heaven Where you keep A part of me Deep within your soul A beacon of our love That ties the two Of us together Our souls connected Through time and space We never really part When we reunite The two of us Shall be joined whole Again to share in That which we already know To love, to laugh, to feel whole When a part of me and a part of you Join together in our love Like we have never been apart. Maria Lisa Polegatto September 4, 2016 I thought we had A chance at love But it takes two Me and you Words unspoken Truth unsaid Love drifts apart My heart broken Love withdrawn Stuck inside my heart A heavy ball beating Wrapped tight with love Truth comes forth in silence The shattering of the world Around as I stand solo I comfort myself without you Our love was meant to share To learn, to laugh, to grow But it takes two Me and you.
